Getting Started

Fragmentary Order Beginner Guide

Fragmentary Order is built around high-risk deployments where preparation matters as much as shooting. Players enter hostile locations, pursue objectives, collect useful resources, fight AI and other threats, and attempt to extract while protecting the equipment and loot they have accumulated.

1

Prepare Before Deployment

Choose weapons, ammunition, protective equipment, and tactical tools before entering a combat zone. Bringing stronger equipment can improve survival chances, but valuable gear also increases what you risk losing during a failed deployment.

Build a loadout around the mission instead of carrying every valuable item you own.

2

Enter the Combat Zone

Deploy into a hostile sci-fi environment containing mission objectives, resources, enemies, and other tactical threats. Treat movement and positioning carefully because the game emphasizes lethal combat rather than forgiving arcade-style firefights.

Observe your surroundings before committing to exposed routes or enclosed facilities.

3

Work Toward Mission Objectives

Follow deployment objectives while deciding how much additional exploration is worth the risk. Objectives can pull players toward dangerous areas where combat and competition for resources become more likely.

Prioritize the objective first when your current equipment is too valuable to gamble on unnecessary fights.

4

Loot and Manage Resources

Search locations for resources and equipment that can improve the value of the deployment. Every additional item creates a choice between continuing deeper into the zone for greater rewards or protecting what you have already collected.

Think of inventory value as increasing extraction pressure: the more you carry, the more valuable a safe exit becomes.

5

Choose Your Fights

Combat is intentionally dangerous, so avoiding a bad engagement can be more valuable than winning a costly firefight. Consider cover, sightlines, ammunition, equipment condition, enemy position, and your remaining mission goals before attacking.

A successful deployment does not require fighting every threat you encounter.

6

Extract Before the Risk Becomes Too High

Once your objectives are complete or your carried resources become valuable enough, shift your priority toward extraction. Dying before leaving the combat zone can cost equipment and erase much of the progress made during that deployment.

Extracting with moderate gains consistently is safer than repeatedly risking everything for one more objective or loot area.

Core Gameplay

How Fragmentary Order Gameplay Works

Fragmentary Order combines hardcore first-person combat with mission-driven deployments and extraction-style risk. Success depends on tactical movement, equipment choices, situational awareness, and deciding when the potential reward no longer justifies remaining in a dangerous combat zone.

Combat

Hardcore First-Person Combat

Firefights emphasize tactical positioning, careful movement, weapon handling, and survival. Players are encouraged to approach combat methodically instead of relying on repeated respawns or reckless pushes.

Cover, sightlines, positioning, ammunition management, and engagement timing

Objectives

Mission-Based Deployments

Players deploy into hostile locations with objectives to complete while navigating environmental and combat threats. Mission goals provide structure to each deployment while leaving room for additional exploration and resource collection.

Complete objectives without allowing optional encounters to jeopardize the entire deployment

PvE

PvE Encounters

Hostile non-player threats occupy the game's combat environments and can interfere with movement, objectives, looting, and extraction. Fighting them can consume ammunition and resources that may be needed later.

Clear only the threats that block important routes or objectives

PvP

PvP Threats

Other players can create an additional layer of danger during deployments. Human opponents make routes, valuable areas, and extraction decisions less predictable than encounters involving AI alone.

Listen, observe, reposition, and avoid exposing yourself unnecessarily

Loot

Resource Collection

Deployments provide opportunities to recover resources and equipment from dangerous locations. Valuable finds increase the potential reward of a run but also increase the cost of dying before extraction.

Balance inventory value against the danger of continuing deeper into the zone

Risk

Equipment Risk

Equipment brought into a deployment is part of the player's risk calculation. Stronger gear can improve combat effectiveness, while losing a deployment can carry meaningful consequences for the equipment being used.

Use expensive equipment when the mission or expected opposition justifies it

Strategy

Tactical Decision Making

The game rewards choices made before and during combat, including route selection, positioning, loadout planning, engagement avoidance, and deciding whether an optional reward is worth additional exposure.

Treat survival and mission completion as more important than total enemy eliminations

Extraction

Extraction

Leaving the combat zone safely is the final step of a successful deployment. The longer a player remains in the field, the more opportunities there are to gain resources, but also the more chances there are to lose accumulated progress.

Know when to stop searching and convert a good run into a successful extraction

Equipment

Fragmentary Order Weapons and Loadouts

Loadout planning is part of Fragmentary Order's risk-management loop. Instead of treating the most expensive equipment as the automatic best choice, players should match weapons, attachments, ammunition, protection, and tactical tools to the expected mission and environment.

Close-Quarters Assault

World & Locations

Fragmentary Order Maps and Locations

Fragmentary Order takes place across a wider solar-system setting rather than a single isolated battlefield. Its combat spaces include enclosed facilities and larger planetary environments where terrain, visibility, route structure, mission objectives, and extraction pressure can change how players approach a deployment.

Space Stations

Extraction: High

Enclosed orbital or space-based facilities

  • Short sightlines, corridors, rooms, junctions, and constrained movement routes
  • Facility-based objectives, exploration, and resource recovery
  • Potentially valuable because enclosed spaces concentrate points of interest

Expect close-range encounters and limited options for bypassing occupied areas.

Industrial Facilities

Extraction: High

Large technological and industrial complexes

  • Mixed interiors, machinery, open work areas, narrow passages, and layered cover
  • Objectives tied to infrastructure, equipment, and controlled facility spaces
  • Useful locations for searching equipment and mission-related resources

Check vertical angles, entrances, and long industrial lanes before crossing exposed areas.

Planetary Combat Zones

Extraction: Medium to High

Surface locations distributed across the game's solar-system setting

  • Broader movement routes and longer potential engagement distances than enclosed facilities
  • Exploration, combat, mission objectives, and travel between points of interest
  • Varies by route and the number of locations visited during a deployment

Route planning becomes especially important when moving between exposed locations.

Interior Facility Zones

Extraction: High

Rooms, access corridors, operational spaces, and other enclosed structures

  • Close-quarters engagements where sound, corners, doorways, and cover strongly influence fights
  • Searching structures and reaching objectives inside controlled spaces
  • High-value areas can create predictable conflict points

Avoid entering rooms blindly and preserve an escape route whenever possible.

Exterior Approach Routes

Extraction: Medium

Open spaces connecting major structures and mission areas

  • Longer sightlines with fewer safe positions than interior environments
  • Movement between objectives, facilities, and extraction routes
  • Usually secondary to the locations they connect

Cross exposed ground only after checking likely observation and firing positions.

World & Lore

Fragmentary Order Lore and Factions

Fragmentary Order is set in a future where humanity has expanded beyond Earth and new organizations compete for influence across an increasingly militarized Solar System. The game's public lore centers on Core, COR3, RepEnt, large-scale conflict, and the systems that shape this fragmented society.

Playtest Access

Fragmentary Order Alpha Access Guide

Fragmentary Order remains in development, so access is centered on official testing opportunities and community announcements rather than a normal public purchase-and-play release. Use official Fragmentary Order, COR3, and RANT channels for access-related announcements.

1

Check the Current Development Status

Fragmentary Order is still in development and is not presented as a standard fully released game with unrestricted public access.

2

Follow Official Test Announcements

Alpha, playtest, and other limited-access opportunities are announced through the game's official ecosystem. Availability can depend on the specific testing phase.

3

Register Through Official Entry Points

When registration is available, use the official Fragmentary Order, COR3, or RANT channels linked by the developers rather than unofficial activation-key websites.

4

Wait for Access Confirmation

Registering interest does not automatically mean immediate game access. Test participation can be limited and invitations may be distributed separately.

5

Separate Testing Access From Purchase

A test invitation, community registration, or promotional event should not be treated as proof that the final commercial game is already available for purchase.

6

Avoid Third-Party Paid Keys

There is no reason to rely on unofficial sellers claiming guaranteed Fragmentary Order alpha activation. Official access should originate from the game's own channels and announced testing programs.
